Her reign as companion to the Twelfth Doctor may have come to an end but Jenna Coleman has donned another TV drama crown in Victoria, which is due to air sometime next year.
In the latest royally short look at her new role, Jenna certainly delivers all the pomp and pageantry of a monarch as she ascends to the throne. The eight-part mini-series will chart the early life of Queen Victoria, from her ascension to the throne at just 18 through to her marriage to Prince Albert.
And if you’ve been following Jenna on Instagram then you’ll have already seen her in full regal attire as she swaps the just as vast but in no way as magnificent surroundings of the TARDIS for some very swanky cathedrals. Also, the eagle-eyed amongst you may have spotted Jenna is now sporting some rather fetching blue contact lenses.
Co-staring The Game’s Tom Hughes, Victoria is expected to air in the autumn slot which had been the home of Downton Abbey – that’s right, we’ve swapped a Lord for a Queen.
From one great Queen to another…
