Titan Comics’ Supremacy of the Cybermen #1 Artwork and Covers

Doctors past and present come face to face with their deadliest foes in Titan Comics crossover comic event, Supremacy of the Cybermen!

Written by Cavan Scott (Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor) and George Mann (Doctor Who: The Eighth Doctor), with art by Alessandro Vitti (Avengers Arena), Ivan Rodriguez (Doktor Sleepless), Walter Giovanni (Red Sonja) and Nicola Righi (Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor), Doctor Who: Supremacy of the Cybermen is a spectacular five-part, bi-weekly adventure featuring one of the Doctor’s most iconic foes – the Cybermen – who celebrate their 50th anniversary this year.

As well as starring the Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctors, the series also features their comic companions – Gabby, Cindy, Alice, Rose (Billy Piper) and Captain Jack (John Barrowman)!

Issue #1 kicks-off in stores and on digital platforms on Wednesday, July 6th 2016, supported by Titan’s third annual Doctor Who Comics Day event on Saturday, July 9th 2016.

This year’s global Doctor Who Comics Day event on Saturday, July 9th, is set to be even bigger than previous years with new comics and collections, merchandise, variant covers, signings, and events across the globe at comic shops, bookstores, libraries, and on digital platforms.

And as a special treat, Titan have revealed a three page preview and the variant covers for issue #1

Nice to see that the Ninth Doctor could be bothered to show up this time for more than just a teasing cameo at the end. Shame that they’re one short of having the full NewWho Doctor collection. Shame also that, since the Titan range has got access to the Eighth and Fourth Doctors (and soon the Third as well), none of the ClassicWho Doctors are going to show up. How about some big crossover event where ClassicWho & NewWho Doctors come together? Surely if any medium can pull this off at the moment it’s the comics?

Small complaint, since this looks to be very good. Hopefully they can repeat the quality of the recent (and misleadingly-titled) ”Four Doctors” miniseries.

I should admit that I’ve only managed to follow the Eleventh Doctor series since year 2 began – it was either that or getting more Big Finish!
