Matt Lucas ‘Very Excited’ To Be Back In Behind-The-Scenes Video

Filming is well underway on Series 10 of Doctor Who and a familiar face from the Doctor’s recent past has joined Peter Capaldi and Pearl Mackie on set.

Matt Lucas, who played Nardole in 2015’s Christmas special The Husbands of River Song, is back and, to celebrate his return, he’s been vlogging his experiences from the Cardiff University set.

Grinning to camera, Lucas said:

“I’m ecstatic because it’s my first day back on Doctor Who. Originally I was just in the Christmas special and now I find myself returning for more adventures. I’m very excited.”

There’s not much to see other than an assortment of trailers and filming equipment but, as Lucas spins the camera around, you get a brief glimpse of both Capaldi and Mackie, in costume, apparently rehearsing a scene together with fans gathered around them.

Doctor Who returns to BBC One for a Christmas special later this year, before series 10 airs later in 2017

Can’t wait to see another non-human non-female non-youngster companion in the TARDIS. It’s been too long!

I hope they don’t go too far down the comedy alien route – there’s room for only one Strax. I hope they get some more serious characters to hang around for a while.
