Will the Thirteenth Doctor be the Real McCoy?

In our timey-wimey co-existence as fellow Time Travellers with the Doctor, do we humans fail the Eighth Doctor when we miss seeing patterns in things that aren’t there?

In the Classic Epoch – or was it just an era? – the greatest Doctor of the time…

  • gave us numerous years of fun filled adventures with the Daleks, Sontarans, and Cybermen
  • aided UNIT against an invasion
  • battled a mad scientist
  • fought the Master with a new look
  • played with a tin dog
  • said goodbye to the greatest companion of all
  • and, in a final adventure saving the universe from an evil Time Lord, knew that the end was coming and that it had been prepared for.

Enter through the TARDIS doors the youngest Doctor of the time…

  • to give us three years of adventures
  • introduced us to new look Silurians
  • witnessed a companion’s death
  • celebrated with us a massive milestone anniversary with contemporary Doctors
  • and who died saving another’s life and realising that the regeneration was ‘different this time’.

This regeneration brought a man…

  • more senior in age
  • who had been mysteriously seen before in another guise
  • fought a female Time Lord on a few occasions
  • was taken out time of by the Time Lords to protect their secrets
  • and the Universe was left with a long hiatus between his second and third set adventures – where the end came once again …

Time then gave us a real McCoy.

Fast forward to the next century, the greatest Doctor of our time…

  • gave us numerous years of fun filled adventures with the Daleks, Sontarans, and Cybermen
  • aided UNIT against an invasion
  • battled a mad scientist
  • fought the Master with a new look
  • played with a tin dog
  • said goodbye to the greatest companion of all
  • and, in a final adventure saving the universe from an evil Time Lord, knew that the end was coming (it had knocked) but just didn’t want to go.

Enter through the TARDIS doors, the youngest Doctor of our time…

  • to give us three years of adventures
  • introduced us to new look Silurians
  • witnessed a companion’s death
  • celebrated with us a massive milestone anniversary with all contemporary Doctors
  • and who died saving a planet’s life with the Time Lords making the regeneration ‘different this time’.

This regeneration brought a man…

  • more senior in age
  • who had been mysteriously seen before in another guise
  • fought a female Time Lord on a few occasions
  • was taken out of time by the Time Lords to get his secrets
  • and the Universe was left with a long month hiatus between his second and third set adventures – where the end came once again…

Therefore, I wonder will time give us again the ‘real McCoy’?
