Despite the lack of official statements about Doctor Who Series 11, news is slowly creeping out – this time, courtesy of star, Sharon D Clarke.
Clarke was taking part in Radio 4’s Loose Ends show, and revealed:
“I am a human, and Bradley Walsh is my husband, and he’s human, and I think that’s about as much as I can tell you… I’m not sure if I can even tell you that, to be honest! I might have to kill you.”
This puts an end to speculation that she’ll play the next incarnation of Missy, the Doctor’s childhood friend who was previously played by Michelle Gomez (and before that, as the Master, by John Simm). Or does it…?
Although we don’t know the name of the character Sharon plays, we at least know that Bradley Walsh is Graham, likely a companion of the Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) – or at the very least, a recurring character like Wilfred Mott (Bernard Cribbins).
On the same show, comedian, Lee Mack announced that he, too, would be appearing in the next run of Doctor Who serials, albeit as a “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” part. He explained:
“I’ve just been a fan all my life, so I just harassed them until they gave me a little part in it.”
Jodie Whittaker, Bradley Walsh, and Sharon D Clarke will be joined regularly by Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole.
Doctor Who Series 11 is expected to air in October 2018, and is currently filming in Cardiff.
