Doctor Who Season 11 Episode Nine and Ten Titles Revealed

We’ve just passed the halfway point of series 11 – there’s a trip to the galaxy’s biggest shop and a harrowing look at the 17th century witch trials to come – and now, the BBC have unveiled the titles for the finale of series 11.

The penultimate episode will be It Takes You Away, which is written by Ed Hime (Skins) and directed by Jamie Childs – who directed The Woman Who Fell to Earth and Demons of the Punjab – and features guest star turns by Ellie Wallwork (Imagine) and British comedy stalwart Kevin Eldon (Four Lions).

The synopsis reads:

“On the edge of a Norwegian fjord, in the present day,  discover a boarded-up cottage and a girl named Hanne in need of their help.

What has happened here?

What monster lurks in the woods around the cottage – and beyond?”

Rounding out this series will be The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos, which is written by showrunner Chris Chibnall and directed once again by Jamie Childs, and will see Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey), Mark Addy (Game of Thrones) and Percelle Ascott (Wizards Vs Aliens) filling out the cast alongside the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker), Graham (Bradley Walsh), Yaz (Mandip Gil) and Ryan (Tosin Cole).

The synopsis reads:

“On the planet of Ranskoor Av Kolos, lies the remains of a brutal battlefield. But as the Doctor, Graham, Yaz and Ryan answer nine separate distress calls, they discover the planet holds far more secrets.

Who is the mysterious commander with no memory? What lies beyond the mists? Who or what are the Ux?

The answers will lead the Doctor and her friends towards a deadly reckoning.”

So who or what are the UX? Just what is the mythological creature lurking in the Norwegian forest? What is the ‘deadly reckoning’ the Doctor is about to face? What does all this have to do with the timeless child?

The answers will soon be revealed…

Doctor Who continues this Sunday with Kerblam! at 6:30 pm on BBC One.
