Series 4 of Sherlock isn’t even on the TV yet, but already, you can pre-order the DVD and Blu-ray versions. Similarly, they’ve a batch of five-star reviews on Amazon, presumably written by time-travellers. But one special release has caught our eye.
Sherlock Series 4 is getting the steelbook treatment – with a gorgeous cover by artist, Alice X. Zhang!
Featuring Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes on the front and Martin Freeman’s John Watson on the back, it’s an exclusive to Amazon, and you might recall the talented painter having also created the wraparound cover for the Doctor Who Series 9 steelbook. It proved massively popular, so used and new copies from third-parties now go for between £135 and £200.
This Sherlock Blu-ray includes two discs collecting three episodes of the hit BBC1 show – the first being The Six Thatchers and the second The Lying Detective, while the third is yet to be announced. The synopsis sadly doesn’t lavish many more details about the series:

Sherlock returns to BBC One with three brand-new feature length episodes, promising laughter, tears, shocks, surprises and extraordinary cases. The eagerly anticipated fourth series, produced by Hartswood Films, begins with the nation’s favourite detective, the mercurial Sherlock Holmes, back once more on British soil, as Doctor Watson and his wife, Mary, prepare for their biggest ever challenge – becoming parents for the first time.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman reprise their iconic roles as Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson in the hit drama written and created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, and inspired by the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Sherlock returns to TV on 1st January.
With an RRP of £19.99, Sherlock: Series 4 steelbook is released on 23rd January 2017, but is available to pre-order now.
