What Did You Think of Doctor Who: Empress of Mars?

Ah, you’re back, are you? Don’t worry, that was a rhetorical question – I can see you’re back. How was Mars? Trouble in the Ice Warrior Hives? Oh dear. I hear they can be troublesome.
Still, I know they’re one of Mark Gatiss’ favourite monsters, hence why he wrote Empress of Mars, as well as the Eleventh Doctor serial that reintroduced the monsters, Cold War – yeah, all the way back in 2013. I can’t believe it either. And it’s Gatiss’ ninth Doctor Who! Ninth. Crikey. So that’s The Unquiet Dead, The Idiot’s Lantern, Victory of the Daleks, Night Terrors, Cold War, The Crimson Horror, Robot of Sherwood, Sleep No More, and obviously Empress of Mars. But is it his last? I hope not; you’ve got to applaud the work of someone who absolutely adores horror.
But what did you think of Empress of Mars? I would value your opinion. Why not take part in our poll, a regular fix here at the DWC? Your options are basically rating it on a scale of 1 to 5, except we’ve given them jazzier names than that…

After voting, let the DWC know more about what you thought in the comments section below and we’ll collect a few up for an upcoming edition of Sonic Feedback. Lovely. Thanks.
