Let’s check in with the PodKast with a K once more before 2017 draws to a close – and this time, Christian Cawley is joined by another contributor to the Doctor Who Companion: Simon Danes!
You might recall that, in the previous PodKast, Christian spoke to the DWC’s own James Baldock; now, Danes takes to the airwaves (do people still say that?) to discuss organising Doctor Who conventions. Specifically, Simon’s responsible for the wonderful annual Bedford Who Charity Con, which this coming year boasts a great list of attendees, including Colin Baker (the Sixth Doctor), Sophie Aldred (Ace), Louise Jameson (Leela), and John Leeson (K9). It takes place in April 2018, so keep an eye out on the convention’s official page to find out more.
Aside from talking about events, the pair then turn their attentions to Doctor Who Series 11, with the news that it’ll be a shorter season than usual, 10 episodes in length instead of the usual 12 or 13, but episodes will each have a duration of 60 minutes.
What do they think of this? Are we being short-changed? Or is a format change a good sign? Have a listen to find out.
The DWC will continue to feature the PodKast with a K, which will be back in the New Year featuring the newly-regeneration PodKast team, together for the first time!
