Big Finish’s Ravenous 2 Will See the Doctor Return to Kaldor

The second Ravenous boxset from Big Finish will see the return of the titular Robots of Death as the TARDIS comes back to Kaldor.

Paul McGann’s Eighth Doctor will be joined, once more, by Helen Sinclair (Hattie Morahan) and Liv Chenka (Nicola Walker) – the latter of whom, of course, comes from Kaldor. The planet was created by Chris Boucher for his 1977 Fourth Doctor tale, The Robots of Death, and has since featured in its own audio series, Kaldor City from Magic Bullet Productions.

The robots most recently appeared in The Sons of Kaldor from Big Finish, part of the Fourth Doctor Adventures: Series 7 box, from the start of 2018.

Ravenous 2 is the follow up to the first set, released in April 2018, which starred Mark Bonnar as the Eleven and Nicholas Rowe as The Kandyman. For this sequel, Liv Chenka returns home in Escape from Kaldor, the TARDIS team travel to Salzburg and battle the Krampus, and we finally meet the Ravenous themselves. Here are the four episodes included in the box:

2.1 Escape From Kaldor by Matt Fitton
2.2 Better Watch Out by John Dorney
2.3 Fairytale of Salzburg by John Dorney
2.4 Seizure by Guy Adams

The Krampus is a half-goat, half-demon beast from lore who punishes naughty children around Christmastime; he’s sort of the antithesis of Father Christmas/Saint Nick, although some cultures depict him as Santa’s travelling companion come the festive period.

Ravenous 2 will be released in October this year with Ravenous 3 and 4 coming in 2019. More details will be coming soon, and as ever, the DWC will keep you updated.

You can order Ravenous 1 to 4 individually at £23 on CD or £20 on download, or order all four box sets together in a bundle at £90 on CD or £80 on download.
