Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 AD to Air on the Big Screen in Scotland

The Glasgow Doctor Who Society are at it again. Not content with screening Doctor Who and the Daleks last year and Venus earlier this year, they’ve decided to go ahead and screen the ever-popular Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150AD on Sunday 9th September 2018 at Lok’s Bar and Kitchen in Glasgow.
That’s right. Glasgow. They are the Glasgow Doctor Who Society after all. Tickets are selling fast and according to my sources at the Society (that would be my Missus), they’re dangerously close to breaking even.
When approached to give us an actual quote the Society’s Lord High President, David Cherry, spoke at length. Sadly, he failed to actually mention anything about the screening itself. So we contacted the Lord High Vice-President, David Scott, to see if he could tell us anything useful:
“For the love of God please come along! We’re two grand in the hole here; they’re going to take our thumbs!”
So apparently not that close to breaking even.
We did try and contact their Social Convener to elaborate on how close to losing their thumbs the Davids actually were, but after being passed back and forth between several other Davids and a Dave, we decided to call it a day with the Glasgow Dave Who Society and get back to the pub.
Still, thumb mutilation aside, it promises to be an entertaining evening. They’ve even managed to secure the services of Prismatic Winds, a young and exciting (their words) wind quintet. Prismatic Winds will be playing a selection of science-fiction themed music prior to the main event. We’re assured this does not mean an hour of the Doctor Who theme music on loop.
So don’t miss your chance to catch the Daleks invading Earth for only the second time. Book your ticket today; it’s cheaper than buying the film off Amazon and you get music, good company, and possibly a thumb mutilation.
