It’s that time of year again: The Graham Norton Show is back, and the Thirteenth Doctor herself, Jodie Whittaker is one of his first guests of the new season!
Promoting the upcoming Doctor Who Series 11, Whittaker is asked about what it feels like to be the first female Doctor; she replies:
“It is ridiculous that it is such a big deal in 2018, but, it is an exciting moment and I can always say I was the first!”
She’s joined on the sofa by Bradley Cooper (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Lady Gaga, who are there to publicise A Star is Born; Rod Stewart, on the release of his 30th studio album, Blood Red Roses; and Ryan Gosling, star of First Man, in which he plays Neil Armstrong.
The chat show host himself has had some experience with Doctor Who in the past – his voice was transmitted at the start of Rose (2005) by mistake, and he subsequently (inadvertently) upset fans when a promo for his show appeared at the end of The Time of Angels (2010).
Whittaker is the latest in a long line of Time Lords to be on the show, including the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant; the Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith; and Twelfth Doctor, Peter Capaldi.
Catch The Graham Norton Show tonight (28th September 2018) on BBC1 at 10:35pm or on BBC iPlayer if you miss it upon transmission.
