Anyone settling in to watch last weeks episodes Kerblam! via the Amazon Prime app would have been in for a treat as the title raced through the time vortex to reveal…The Witchfinders?
So rather than a satire on consumerism, viewers were treated to an early 17th Century England witch trial. Is this Amazon’s revenge for Kerblam!? Not that anyone who wanted to see Kerblam! would know, they still haven’t seen it!
Unveiling the episode a good four days before it’s actual premiere, fans have taken to Reddit and Twitter to discus this time space anomaly – with one fan contacting Amazon customer service, only to be told that the problem was with the content provider, the BBC – on the plus side, they got $5 in free credit for their trouble.
Needless to say, there may be spoilers out there for The Witchfinders…
As for the episode itself, The Doctor, Ryan, Graham and Yaz arrive in 17th century Lancashire and become embroiled in a witch trial, run by the local landowner. As fear stalks the land, the arrival of King James I only serves to intensify the witch hunt.
But is there something even more dangerous at work? And can the Doctor and her friends keep the people of Bilehurst Cragg safe from all of the forces amassing in the land?
Unless you have Amazon Prime, The Witchfinders generally appears on Sunday, 6:30 pm on BBC One.
