Frazer Hines has admitted that he was nervous about the Doctor’s recent gender change after Jodie Whittaker was announced as the thirteenth incarnation of the Time Lord, but his concerns seem to have eased – so much so that he’d like to return to the series.
Hines, who played Jamie McCrimmon in all but one Second Doctor serial, said:
“I was worried it was going to be a woman Doctor then when I saw – I loved the way she kept her accent. I’d love to work with her and go, ‘My legs are better than yours, Doctor!'”
Of course, this does imply that: 1. he’s already checked or is very confident in his own pins; and 2. he’d compared his legs to previous Doctor, Patrick Troughton and couldn’t claim his legs were superior. I guess we’ll never truly know what went on between filming…
Yes, this article mainly exists so we could use that headline, thanks for asking.
No, we’re not going to compel you to comment about which Doctor Who actor could beat Frazer Hines in the running for The Best Legs in Doctor Who. Equally, we’re not stopping you from doing that either. My vote goes to Kamelion.
You can enjoy brand-new old Who starring Hines as McCrimmon in The Macra Terror, out now on DVD. Blu-ray, and steelbook.
