See Jenna Coleman in All My Sons Through National Theatre Live

Jenna Coleman’s professional stage debut in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons will be screened at participating cinemas this Tuesday (14th May 2019) across the UK.

Broadcast live from The Old Vic in London, the version of All My Sons is directed by Jeremy Herrin, and also stars Midnight‘s Colin Morgan. Here’s the synopsis:

America, 1947. Despite hard choices and even harder knocks, Joe and Kate Keller are a success story. They have built a home, raised two sons and established a thriving business.

But nothing lasts forever and their contented lives, already shadowed by the loss of their eldest boy to war, are about to shatter. With the return of a figure from the past, long buried truths are forced to the surface and the price of their American dream is laid bare.

Jenna stars as Ann Deever, a role currently played by Francesca Carpanini in the Broadway iteration of the story.

The cast is led by Sally Field (The Amazing Spider-Man) and Bill Pullman (Torchwood: Miracle Day), and also features Bessie Carter (Les Misérables), Oliver Johnstone (Skyfall), Kayla Meikle (After Life), and Sule Rimi (The Machine).

The play premiered in 1947, and was adapted into movies in 1948 and 1987. Though it’s not as well known as Miller’s The Crucible or Death of a Salesman, it’s nonetheless a highly-influential piece which even contributed to the scribe’s appearance in front of the House Un-American Activities Committee for its picking apart of the American Dream.
