Charlie Condou will appear in an upcoming episode of Doctor Who Series 15, due to be screened next year.
Condou will reportedly play a character called Gary, though not much else is known, so this could be a one-off role or a recurring part in the season.
Charlie is best known for playing Marcus Dent in Coronation Street, the ITV soap that also starred Millie Gibson, who now plays the Fifteenth Doctor companion, Ruby Sunday; Series 15 will be her second run of stories in the TARDIS, though she’s likely not in the first couple of episodes that are set to introduce a new companion, Belinda, played by Varada Sethu (Andor, Doctor Who: Boom).
It’ll also be Ncuti Gatwa’s second series as the Fifteenth Doctor.
Condou initially played Marcus Dent in Coronation Street between 2007 and 2008, then returned three years later, before leaving the soap in 2014. He previously opened up:
“I had a bit of breakdown after I left Corrie, as I had left for the right reasons but suddenly I had [no] job, no money, and things were tough and I got myself into therapy because I needed to help myself.”
Since then, he’s been in Unforgotten, Holby City, and Midsomer Murders, as well as the Big Finish Eighth Doctor story, Ravenous.
Doctor Who Series 15 has already been filmed and will air on BBC1 and stream on Disney+ in early 2025.
