Get Your Doctor Who Books Signed at This Weekend’s Candy Jar Stall in Cardiff

If you’re anywhere near Cardiff Bay this weekend, head over to the Candy Jar Books pop-up stall to get a bevvy of Doctor Who spin-off titles, plus a whole lot more — including some signed editions!

Head of Publishing, Shaun Russell, will be there, bringing with him a huge number of books from various ranges, alongside a few authors. I’m aiming to be there on Sunday 24th August, so do nip over and say hello. I may try to flog you one of my books, like 100 Objects of Dr Who, Companions: More Than Sixty Years of Doctor Who Assistants, or Timeslides: The Doctor Who Art of Colin Howard (the latter of which I edited). Please do at least say hi if you’re nearby, as I love meeting readers of the Doctor Who Companion!

Shaun says:

“We normally do a summer pop-up ‘shed’ stall in the middle of Cardiff, but this year, we’re heading to Cardiff Bay as it feels like a place Doctor Who fans will particularly love. For one thing, Ianto’s Shrine [made by fans after the Torchwood character was killed off] is still there — after all these years! Definitely one to check out. That area is also where they filmed a lot of Who episodes, including Rose [Tyler] and Mickey [Smith] exploring the area in Boom Town, and many shots of the Wales Millennium Centre, right by Torchwood HQ on Roald Dahl Plass.”

Obviously, Candy Jar won’t solely be selling Who-related tomes: there will also be an array of fiction and non-fiction titles for adults and children.

Plus The Lucy Wilson Mysteries, featuring the adventures of the Brigadier’s granddaughter!

Candy Jar Books’ stall will be in Cardiff Bay from Friday 22nd August to Bank Holiday Monday, 25th August 2025.
