Doctor Who Magazine finally rights a wrong, by giving Ncuti Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor the chance to battle the Daleks!
What’s more, he’s joined by Mel Bush, the Sixth and Seventh Doctors’ companion played on screen by Bonnie Langford. She’s one of a comparatively few companions who never fought the Daleks on TV.
Doctor Who Magazine #626 includes the strip, Corruption of the Daleks, in which the Doctor and Mel head to 1920s Paris to defeat the Daleks. The comic is written by Alan Barnes, drawn by John Ross, coloured by James Offredi, and lettered by Roger Langridge.
And here’s a sneak peek.

Famously, Gatwa was keen to face the Daleks, and, back in 2024, said:
“I’ve heard chats about me not ever facing a Dalek. I’d be so angry if that’s the case! By the time that I’m done with Doctor Who, I better have faced a Dalek. What on earth would be the point of me being Doctor Who without facing a Dalek?”
Sadly, it wasn’t to be: Gatwa left Doctor Who at the end of the last season, regenerating in The Reality War, a long time before he was expected to leave. Rumours abound that it was due to Disney’s indecision about recommissioning the series, holding him Ncuti from doing other work.
We’d love to see the Fifteenth Doctor battling the Daleks on TV, and Gatwa hinted in the past that the Daleks would draw him back in, so we can only cross our fingers and hope that his story is not done.
For now though, Doctor Who Magazine #626 is on sale now.
