Colin Baker and Terry Molloy Launch New Season of The Sign of Four, as Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson

Doctor Who legends, Colin Baker and Terry Molloy, have launched a new theatrical tour based on the Arthur Conan Doyle story, The Sign of Four, the second novel featuring Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson.

Colin, of course, played the Sixth Doctor, while Terry was Davros throughout the 1980s — and incidentally, both will also be appearing at this year’s Bedford Who Charity Con! — and will take on the respective roles of Holmes and Watson.

The live radio play tour started on 17th March 2026 in Leicestershire and continues today (19th March 2026) at the Blackfriars Theatre, Boston. The tour concludes in Bridgwater next month.

Colin said:

“Sherlock Holmes was always a favourite of mine. When I was at school, if you won a prize, they were always books – you were allowed to choose your own book, within reason obviously.

“I chose, for two of my prizes, the complete long stories of Sherlock Holmes, and the complete short stories of Sherlock Holmes, which I still have a home with the little Upper Fourth Handwriting Prize certificate, because I enjoyed reading them avidly.”

The pair have previously toured The Sign of Four, as well as The Hound of the Baskervilles.
