When the original series came to an end, I was ten years old and not quite a fan yet. It would take the repeats of The Time Meddler, The Mind Robber, and The Sea Devils to cement my interest in the show. The Wilderness Years also gifted me with the Doctor’s continued adventures in novel form, from Virgin and BBC Books, which I lapped up unquestioningly, reading almost every one. I don’t know where I found the time!
