Doctor Who and Sherlock Teased in BBC Christmas 2016 Trailer

We’ve waited more than long enough. Near the end of this month, we’ve lots to look forward to. No, I’m not talking about Christmas! New episodes of Doctor Who and Sherlock are nearly upon us.
In fact, the BBC typically pulls out all the stops for the festivities, with special editions of many of their hit shows, with Doctor Who as quite a centrepiece of Christmas Day and, just like The Abominable BrideSherlock expected to pull in a huge number of viewers on New Year’s Day.
So it’s time to get brief but sweet teases of those programmes in the BBC’s Christmas trailer!

We start off with the bizarrely-popular Mrs. Brown’s Boys, take in Strictly Come Dancing, Call the Midwife, Still Open All Hours, Witness for the Prosecution, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, Outnumbered, Would I Lie To You?, Last Tango in Halifax, Robot Wars, Planet Earth II, and Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes – and of course, we get glimpses of The Return of Doctor Mysterio and Sherlock: The Six Thatchers.
You’ll naturally have spotted Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor, Matt Lucas as Nardole, Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes, and Martin Freeman as John Watson, but you might want to keep an eye out for Charity Wakefield as Lucy and Toby Jones as Culverton Smith.
C’mon then everyone: It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…
