It’s the trailer we’ve all been waiting for. You can keep your Game of Thrones Season 7. Star Wars: The Last Jedi? Save it for all we care. Doctor Who Season 10? Maybe I’ll watch it when I have a moment.
You’ll surely agree that all these big beasts of the sci-fi and fantasy world pale into insignificance when compared to the eagerly awaited new version of Duck Tales starring the vocal talents of our very own David Tennant. Come on, I’m trying here…
Anyway, the new version of the 1980s classic (hmmm…) Disney show will see the Tenth Doctor taking on the role of Scrooge McDuck, a part we would say his Scottish origins made him a perfect fit for if we at the DWC were ever to slip into writing patronising drivel to fill column space.
So, moving on ’cause I know you’re itching to know more details, the series will see the famously miserly McDuck being thwarted from adding to his colossal pile of cash by the chaos caused by his grandnephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Nephew, Donald will also make an appearance. Hilarity will no doubt ensue.
Set for a summer launch, the new series of Duck Tales will be screened on the Disney XD channel so set your calendar reminders now! Such is the house of mouse’s faith in the show, a second series has already been commissioned.
In truth, the series looks like the kind of thing parents will gladly stick on to keep the kids quiet and buy themselves a precious extra half hour in bed on a Saturday morning. And, on the evidence of this clip, Tennant gives the part the necessary gusto to keep the young viewers entertained.
