The time slot for the second episode of series 11, The Ghost Monument, has been revealed.
Jodie Whittaker’s second episode as the Doctor, which is written by showrunner Chris Chibnall, will air on BBC One on Sunday 14th October at 6.55pm – a full ten minutes after the time slot of this week’s episode, The Woman Who Fell to Earth, because it’s shorter than the series premiere.
The Radio Times reports that the 50-minute episode, which sees the Thirteenth Doctor and her new friends trapped in a “hostile alien environment” could be occupying the new regular time slot given that every subsequent episode is the same length – although, and this is just based on what has gone before, that might change for the series finale.
The rest of the Sunday line-up is locked in place; Doctor Who will be followed by the Strictly Come Dancing result show which starts at 7:45 pm, which is then followed by Still Open All Hours at 8:30 pm and The Cry, the drama series staring Jenna Coleman, which begins at 9:00 pm.
While none of this is confirmed yet and, as the Radio Times understands, Doctor Who’s time slot will be confirmed on a week by week basis, it isn’t a stretch to say that the show will not be jumping around the schedule too much in the Sundays to come.
Doctor Who returns Sunday 7th October with The Woman Who Fell to Earth at 6:45 pm on BBC One.
