The BBC has revealed that Anita Dobson and Michelle Greenidge will be guest-starring in Doctor Who Series 14.
Both have already been seen shooting for the show on location in Bristol and South Wales.
Dobson, of course, is best known for starring as Angie Watts in the soap, EastEnders; since leaving the drama in 1988, she’s been in a number of productions including Red Dwarf, The Last Detective (with Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison), New Tricks, Call the Midwife, and, with Ninth Doctor actor, Christopher Eccleston, Dodger last year. She’s married to Queen legend (and animal rights activist) Brian May.
Michelle Greenidge, meanwhile, has been in I May Destroy You, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Small Axe, Alex Rider, and It’s a Sin, the latter written by new showrunner, Russell T Davies.
We don’t know how many episodes of Doctor Who the pair will be in — IMDb lists three episodes for each, but this feels unlikely. The smart money is on them appearing in one episode of Series 14.
That will be the first full season starring Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor and Millie Gibson as new companion, Ruby Sunday. The new TARDIS team have been seen on location filming too, which is pretty exciting! Series 14 will be eight episodes long, plus we’re promised the return of the Christmas specials under Davies’ tenure. Further series are expected to consist of more episodes.
Filming continues now so keep your eyes peeled for more announcements!
