A replica of a popular Fourth Doctor TARDIS console has gone on display at a special Doctor Who exhibition for six weeks, alongside two villains from the show.
The console was made using the original design blueprints by the engineering department at Anglia Ruskin University in Peterborough.
The Adventures in Time and Space exhibition is at the Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery until 2nd November, and includes a huge array of great items, props, and costumes from Doctor Who — including a faithful replica of the TARDIS console used by Tom Baker’s Fourth Doctor from The Masque of Mandragora. Sophie Aldred, who played the Seventh Doctor companion, Ace, gave a talk about her time on the series at the item’s unveiling.
Aimi Rowe, display programmer at the museum, said:
“The exhibition has been extremely popular since its opening in May, and curator Derek Handley was keen for visitors to see as many monsters as possible.”
Earlier this month (July 2025), the costume worn by Christopher Ryan as Lord Kiv in The Trial of a Time Lord: Mindwarp, and a Quark from The Dominators were also added to the exhibition. This is a rare opportunity to see a “baddie” from the 1960s, the Quarks hailing from the Second Doctor era.
Rowes added:
“For those that haven’t been yet, this is the perfect time to experience the exhibition.”
We couldn’t agree more!
