The Doctor Who Companion has launched a new section, bringing together many years of top-notch freebies, all easily accessible and available to all our readers right now!
Later this month, the DWC celebrates its 10th anniversary, and we’re excited to say that we’ve got many months of celebrations planned, continuing all the way to Christmas. Though those celebrations properly get going next week, we’re launching something of a prologue to the main action by debuting the “Free Stuff!” section that you can find at the top of our homepage — and actually, every page!
The section conglomerates many years’ worth of… well, exactly what it says on the tin: free stuff, including all of our Annuals, audios, and downloadable PDFs.
So for instance, we’ve got PDF Annuals going as far back as 2021, each containing a selection of features, reviews, and fiction from across each year.
You can also read extracts from books including:
- Just Sarah: More Than Fifty Years of a Doctor Who Companion (which many DWC contributors have worked on);
- Timeslides: The Doctor Who Art of Colin Howard;
- The Black Archive: Dalek;
- Companions: More Than Sixty Years of Doctor Who Assistants;
- The Doctor Who Christmas Specials.
Plus, you can read some free short stories, as well as listen to audio adventures via embedded videos. That includes The Absence of Peas, a comedy by our very own Peter Shaw!
Why create this new section? Largely because we wanted all our freebies to be in one, easy-to-find place.
It’s also to showcase that we like to do things differently to most Doctor Who sites; I’m proud to say that we’re one of very few online outlets of our kind that give away so much free content, even aside from the thousands of articles you can read right now.
And of course, we’ve got more freebies coming to you soon.
Thank you very much to everyone who has helped create this free content; from the writers at the Doctor Who Companion to publishers like Obverse Books and Candy Jar Books.
Head to the Free Stuff section to find out what’s on offer.
Join us across 2026 (and ideally beyond please!) to help us celebrate 10 years of the DWC!
