#FollowFriday: Peter Davison

Twitter. It divides opinion. But this is our opportunity to point you towards some brilliant individuals connected to everyone’s favourite show.
It’s Big Finish Week on the Doctor Who Companion, so it makes sense to tell you to follow someone related, right? A writer or director? A producer? Ooh, or the official Big Finish feed!
Well, actually, next week (13th April) is Peter Davison’s birthday. So there. We were alerted to this by Big Finish’s excellent deal on Fifth Doctor stories, so anyone searching for a link can rest easy now, okay?
Yes, the Fifth Doctor himself: Peter Davison. Davison was the youngest actor to play the role (until that accolade was stolen by Matt Smith), having shot to fame playing Tristan Farnon in All Creatures Great and Small. His first full adventure as the Doctor was Castrovalva, and accompanied by such companions as Nyssa, Tegan, and Turlough, he battled Daleks, Cybermen, and the Master. His final story, The Caves of Androzani has been voted the #1 Doctor Who serial by Doctor Who Magazine readers in a poll a few years ago.
He doesn’t tweet very often, but anyone who has watched his brilliant 50th anniversary short, The Five(Ish) Doctors Reboot will know he has a warm, easy wit that of course comes across on his feed.

Notably, there’s The Recurring Case of the Mis-spelt Name, a saga started by DWM when he was announced. Further hiccups came when he starred in Gypsy

There’s plenty of jokes for Doctor Who fans to enjoy.
