New Promo Image Released – And Episode One Title Announced!

It’s about time we were treated to a brand new promo shot for Doctor Who Series 10, and the BBC is happy to oblige!
So here it is: the Twelfth Doctor (Peter Capaldi), shielding Nardole (Matt Lucas) from harm, and holding onto Bill Potts (Pearl Mackie) for dear life. Lovely.

You might’ve noticed Earth in the sky, alongside what appears to be Mars, which would tie into the return of the Ice Warriors (likely in Mark Gatiss’ Episode 9). There’s a sliver of ice on the ground too, perhaps echoing the Frost Fair we see in Episode 3, written by Sarah Dollard (Face the Raven), and in the background, an alien city burning… Hmm. That could be Episode 2 by Frank Cottrell-Boyce (In the Forest of the Night).
The BBC has also confirmed that Episode 1, written by Steven Moffat, will be called The Pilot, not A Star in Her Eye as previously thought. This ties into that previous trailer and the further titles we’ve gleaned, ie. The Pilot, Smile, Thin Ice, and Knock Knock.
And that’s not all! There’s a new Series 10 trailer being screened at half-time during tonight’s football match, which I’m reliably informed is a FA Cup quarter-final between Chelsea and Manchester United. Football’s the one with the sticks, isn’t it?
The match starts on BBC1 at 7:45pm (coverage begins at 7:30pm), so we expect the trailer to be aired at about 8:30pm. Check back at the DWC because we’ll of course have it too!
