The PodKast With A K Ponders Bradley Walsh Rumours

The future is, as ever, a very uncertain land. Right now, it feels like we know less than we ever did: we don’t know when Series 11 starts filming; when it’s due to air; where it’ll be filmed; if there’l be a new TARDIS console; if a writer’s room approach will be adopted; which writers will be involved; and who the new companion will be.
Rumour has it that the role of the Doctor’s companion, however, will be taken by The Chase‘s Bradley Walsh. No, really. And despite some worries, he was fantastic in The Sarah Jane Adventures.
The PodKast with a K is back and mulling over this proposition. Immediately pondering whether production has in “some sort of bizarre existential crisis”, Christian Cawley and James McLean try to work out whether this is a deceptively smart move – or stunt casting that recalls the tactics of the late producer, John Nathan-Turner, who invited celebrities like Bonnie Langford, Ken Dodd, and Hale and Pace onto the show.
If you’ve got a spare half-an-hour, it’s well worth a listen.

So what do you think? Is the speculation about Walsh likely? Where did the rumours come from? And is this a good or bad sign of things to come…?
