As well as appearing at the BBC America Doctor Who panel at this years San Diego Comic Con, Jodie Whittaker has also been confirmed as a guest on another TV panel that’s promising something fierce and progressive.
Making that long wait in Hall H all the more worthwhile is Comic Con’s Women Who Kick Ass panel, which has been confirmed for Saturday, July 21.
The panel, which will be hosted by Entertainment Weekly’s Jessica Shaw, is described as a discussion that will celebrate what it means to play women who “redefine the rules and refuse to yield”.
Joining the Thirteenth Doctor will be Agents of SHIELD‘s Chloe Bennet, Watchmen’s Regina King, Riverdale’s Camila Mendes and The Darkest Mind’s Amandla Stenberg.
According to Digital Spy, Comic-Con has promised the event will involve the “fierce” and “fearless” actresses as they discuss the “power and privilege” of playing women.
As for the Doctor Who panel, Jodie Whittaker will be joined by will be joined by co-stars Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill, who play Ryan and Yasmin, as well as award-winning series showrunner Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch) and executive producer Matt Strevens (An Adventure In Space And Time)…and hopefully some new legitimately sourced footage too.
San Diego Comic-Con takes places between July 19 and July 22.
