The actor Maxim Baldry, who recently gained prominence in Years and Years, appears set for a role in Series 12 of Doctor Who. Maxim’s online CV lists Doctor Who in his forthcoming work with the director as ‘Various’  ̶ possibly meaning that he’ll appear in more than one episode of the 2020 run.

Maxim has also published details of filming on his Instagram site, including a photo of caravans used as a filming base in Ogmore, Wales.

Those who watched Years and Years, which was penned by Doctor Who diva Russell T. Davies himself, will know that Maxim played Viktor Goraya, boyfriend to Daniel Lyons, played by another Who alumnus and Davies favourite, Russell ‘Alonzo Frame’ Tovey. Maxim has also appeared in Hollyoaks (as Liam Donovan), Skins (Banjo), and Rome (the sets for which were used in the series four episode, The Fires of Pompeii). As a child, he also worked opposite Rowan Atkinson in Mr Bean’s Holiday.

In 2020, Maxim will also be appearing in an episode of Strike Back as Loric.
