If you had to take a stab as to which Doctor Who star has released a Christmas album this year, I’d wager that you wouldn’t need too many guesses before you settled on John Barrowman, that master of glitzy showbiz who can always be relied onto turn the dial labelled ‘camp’ up to eleven.
Barrowman and the season of goodwill were surely made for each other, so it comes as no surprise that the Captain Jack actor has unveiled A Fabulous Christmas, a studio album of classic songs including Santa Claus is Coming to Town, It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, and Silent Night.
“It’s been great to get back into the studio recording new Christmas tracks,” says he with the trench coat and vortex manipulator. “I love this time of the year, but this is the first time I’ve put together a full album of Christmas and festive music for the most FABULOUS time of the year.” You can just hear him saying ‘fabulous’ in capital letters, can’t you?
Fans of Captain Jack will want to check out the dates for the short British tour which accompanies the release. He’s had terrible trouble with hsi neck recently, impacting his touring, so keep an eye on whether more dates are announced.
In other news, Barrowman is to take a seat on the judging panel for the next series of ITV’s Dancing On Ice when it returns in January 2020. How much excitement can fans of la Barrowman stand, I ask you?
