Thank Xoanon – Doctor Who: The Collection – Season 14 will be re-released in July in the UK, thanks to unprecedented demand!
This much-loved season was released on Blu-ray in early May, and while many (myself included) may have held back from pre-ordering, thinking they’d find it in stores, the Coronavirus lockdown ended those hopes. It seemingly left those who missed it victim to scalpers on eBay and the like, selling it for grossly-inflated prices.
The second edition will be released on 27th July 2020, but pre-orders will be available either today (11th June) or tomorrow (12th).
All content, extras, and artwork will remain the same as the first edition of this set.
Season 14 features The Masque of Mandragora, The Hand of Fear, The Deadly Assassin, The Face of Evil, The Robots of Death, and The Talons of Weng-Chiang. The Hand of Fear is, of course, Elisabeth Sladen’s final serial as Sarah. In our review, we said:
“Baker and Sladen play their final scene together beautifully. There’s a deep, unspoken sadness, understated and all the more heart-breaking for it. Writer, Bob Baker and Dave Martin wisely inject a lightness at its conclusion: the Doctor can’t even drop Sarah at home properly.”
