The Devil’s Hour, Starring Peter Capaldi, to Debut in October (Just In Time for Hallowe’en)

The Twelfth Doctor actor, Peter Capaldi, is set to appear in The Devil’s Hour, a scary thriller that will begin streaming at the end of October. Yep, perfect for Hallowe’en!

The 6-part series is produced by Hartswood Films, best known for Sherlock and Dracula, with former Doctor Who showrunner, Steven Moffat, acting as producer alongside his wife, Sue Vertue. Capaldi plays Gideon, a recluse with a murderous obsession and who naturally becomes the focus of a police manhunt.

Written by Tom Moran, here’s the synopsis for The Devil’s Hour:

Lucy Chambers (Jessica Raine) wakes up every night at 3:33am. Her mother speaks to empty chairs, her son is emotionally sterile, and her house is haunted by echoes of a life that isn’t her own. Nothing has made sense for a long time. But the answers are out there, somewhere, at the end of a trail of brutal murders. The Devil’s Hour is a psychological thriller that seeks to explain the inexplicable.

Obviously, Raine, too, has a connection to Doctor Who, having appeared in Hide and played Verity Lambert in the 50th anniversary celebratory biopic, An Adventure in Space and Time.

The show also stars The Hungry Earth/ Cold Blood‘s Meera Syal, Nikesh Patel (Resolution), and Ramanique Ahluwalia (Vera).

Amazon has also released this chilling trailer…

The Devil’s Hour comes to Amazon Prime Video on 28th October 2022.
