David Tennant is seemingly appearing as the Fourteenth Doctor for this year’s Comic Relief charity appeal.
Tennant will be presenting a segment of the TV marathon himself, alongside AJ Odudu, Joel Dommett, Paddy McGuinness, and Zoe Ball. And from some set photos, it appears that there might be a sketch with the Fourteenth Doctor, i.e. David as the latest incarnation of the Time Lord.
Nothing has been revealed, however, so perhaps he’s donned his new look solely for the promotional teaser, with Spyfall‘s Lenny Henry.
There are clips from a few sketches in the trailer; already confirmed are special scenes for The Traitors, Blackadder (called Baldrick’s Bedtime Story for Comic Relief), and Ghosts, the latter of which will feature Kylie Minogue (who some people know for her parade of songs, but let’s face it, she’s better known for appearing in Voyage of the Damned).
It would be a lovely surprise to see more of the Fourteenth Doctor, but if so, it’ll likely be a lighter, out-of-canon affair, as with some previous contributions like The Curse of Fatal Death.
