Death in Paradise Star, Genesis Lynea, to Star in Doctor Who Series 14

Russell T Davies, showrunner of Doctor Who, has revealed two new actors who are appearing in Series 14 of the show.

Teasing “big surprises [still] to come”, Davies announced that Genesis Lynea and Gwïon Morris Jones will star in this year’s season of Doctor Who:

“To ramp up your anticipation, it’s a joy to welcome Genesis Lynea on board. It was a great delight for me to work with Genesis on an ITV series called You and Me in 2023, and so much fun to work with her again, so soon, in a very different role.”

Russell was the executive producer on You and Me, in which Genesis played Dee. But you might know her as Andrina, the daughter of Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, in Death in Paradise, or as Dr. Simone Tyler in Silent Witness.

Meanwhile, Gwïon Morris Jones has been in Itopia, The Winter King, and Masters of the Air.

We don’t know too much about who else is going to be in Series 14, except, of course, Fifteenth Doctor actor, Ncuti Gatwa, and Millie Gibson, who plays companion, Ruby Sunday. Oh, and some more returning faces: Jemma Redgrave as UNIT boss, Kate Stewart; Bonnie Langford as Mel Bush; and Anita Dobson as Mrs Flood.

We expect a rush of announcements pretty soon — after all, Series 14 is only a couple of months away!
