The BBC has revealed the synopsis for the upcoming Doctor Who Series 14 finale, Empire of Death.
Naturally, it doesn’t tell us too much, but there is some ambiguity about one aspect…
Here’s what to expect from this Saturday’s episode:
The Doctor has lost, his ageless enemy reigns supreme, and a shadow is falling over creation. Nothing can stop the devastation… except, perhaps, one woman.
So who might his woman be? Ruby Sunday? Mel Bush? Mrs Flood? Susan Triad? Or someone else entirely?
We’ll find out soon enough.
And here’s who’s in Empire of Death:
The Doctor: Ncuti Gatwa
Ruby Sunday: Millie Gibson
Kate Lethbridge-Stewart: Jemma Redgrave
Melanie Bush: Bonnie Langford
Susan Triad: Susan Twist
Rose Noble: Yasmin Finney
Harriet Arbinger: Genesis Lynea
Morris Gibbons: Lenny Rush
Colonel Ibrahim: Alexander Devrient
Corporal Sullivan: Jasmine Bayes
Mrs Flood: Anita Dobson
Carla Sunday: Michelle Greenidge
Cherry Sunday: Angela Wynter
Kind Woman: Sian Clifford
The Vlinx: Aidan Cook
Voice of the Vlinx: Nicholas Briggs
No surprises there either — basically, everyone who was in The Legend of Ruby Sunday! Of course, Gabriel Woolf is also expected to be in the episode, as the voice of Sutekh the Destroyer (originally from Pyramids of Mars) once more.
Empire of Death is written by Russell T Davies and directed by Jamie Donoughue, and will air on BBC1 on 22nd June 2024 at 6:40pm.
