Airtime, Cast, and Synopsis Revealed for Doctor Who Series 15: The Robot Revolution

The BBC has revealed the airtime for The Robot Revolution, the opening episode of the new season of Doctor Who.

The episode will air on BBC1 at 6:50pm on Saturday 12th April 2025.

It will also be available on iPlayer the same day from 8am in the UK and Disney+ across the globe. It’s, as expected, 46 minutes long.

The Robot Revolution introduces new companion, Belinda Chandra, played by Varada Sethu (Boom), opposite the Fifteenth Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa); he promises to get her home, albeit “the long way around,” after robots abduct her and take her to a planet orbiting a star named after Belinda.

Here’s the synopsis:

“Under a starlit sky, two teenage sweethearts share a moment: he presents her with a star – her star – named in her honour. Miss Belinda Chandra. It’s cute, it’s quirky, it’s… just a certificate. But then Robots rock up at Belinda’s. They’re from Missbelindachandra One – and they want their queen back. Can the Doctor rescue Her Majesty Queen Belinda, and quash the robot revolution?”

And here’s the cast:

Anita Dobson: Mrs Flood
Jonny Green: Alan Budd
Max Parker: Manny
Thalia Dudek: Kirby Blake
Jeffin Kunjumon: Stefan Haines
Belinda Owusu: Receptionist
Tom Storey: Tombo

An episode of Doctor Who: Unleashed, presented by Steffan Powell, will air straight afterwards on BBC Three at 7:35pm.

Written by Russell T Davies (Rose; The Giggle) and directed by Peter Hoar (A Good Man Goes to War), The Robot Revolution will air and stream from 12th April 2025.
