Sophie Aldred has returned as Seventh Doctor companion, Ace, for Tiny Time Lord Trouble, a special sketch in support of the BBC’s charity-athon, Children in Need.
Written and directed by Steve Healey, the scene features a Doctor Who version of Pudsey Bear, the Children in Need mascot, alongside a classic Dalek and Cyberman! It’s a joy seeing them in a new scene together.
Tiny Time Lord Trouble was filmed at the Victorian country house, Harlaxton Manor, in Lincolnshire, to raise awareness of the charity and encourage donations in a bid to help children in the UK and beyond.
Ace fought the Cybermen in Silver Nemesis and the Daleks in Remembrance of the Daleks. She accompanied Sylvester McCoy’s Seventh Doctor from Dragonfire to 20th Century Doctor Who‘s final story, Survival. We saw her again in the Thirteenth Doctor’s (Jodie Whittaker) swansong, The Power of the Doctor.
Healey notes that, “we do not own or have rights to Doctor Who, The Daleks or Children In Need.” That would normally get them in hot water, so who knows, this might disappear off the internet. We really hope not though as it’s solely to get donations to Children in Need.
Speaking of which, you can donate online here, and watch the full show on BBC1 on Friday 14th November 2025, from 7pm (GMT).
Another promotional film by Healey is due to be released this week.
