Doctor Who fan and actor, Toby Hadoke, has released a video celebrating and remembering those cast and crew members who we lost in 2025.
The list of alumni who passed away in the last year is horribly but inevitably lengthy, and includes: Script Editor and writer, Christopher H Bidmead (Castrovalva; Frontios); Enlightenment writer Barbara Clegg; Christopher Benjamin (Henry Gordon Jago in The Talons of Weng-Chiang, though modern-day fans might know him better for his appearance in The Unicorn and the Wasp); Mary Husband, Costume Deisnger for Day of the Daleks; Simon Fisher-Becker who played Dorium in the Eleventh Doctor era; Jean Marsh, aka companion, Sara Kingdom in The Daleks’ Master Plan; perennial favourite, Prentis Hancock, whose serials include Spearhead from Space, Planet of Evil, and Planet of the Daleks; Pik-Sen Lim, who starred in The Mind of Evil, but who was also married to Don Houghton (Inferno). and whose daughter, Sara Houghton, appeared in The Sarah Jane Adventures: The Curse of Clyde Langer; John Woodvine (The Armageddon Factor); VFX Assistant, George Reed; The Enemy of the World‘s Mary Peach; Harriet Philpin from Genesis of the Daleks; Gordon Wales, a Voord in The Keys of Marinus; and Wendy Davers from The Curse of Peladon.
Perhaps one of the most surprising names is Amanda Brotchie, who directed last year’s Lux and The Well, two beautifully-shot episodes and highlights of the Fifteenth Doctor era.
Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of all those we lost in 2025. The Who universe has got a little darker with each passing.
