Three Doctors Headline This Year’s Bedford Who Charity Con! And Tickets Are Available Now!

Bedford Who Charity Con, the charity convention run by DWC’s very own Simon Danes – created by fans and for fans – takes place this year on Saturday 11th April, 2026. Tickets are still available and the Doctor Who Companion will be there!

Small scale and greatly loved by attendees, this eleventh Bedford Who convention boasts three Doctors as guests – Colin Baker (the Sixth Doctor), David Bradley (who’s played both the First Doctor and First Doctor actor, William Hartnell), and Jo Martin (the “Fugitive” Doctor) – and a host of other stars: Nicola Bryant (Peri); Wendy Padbury (Zoe); Lisa Bowerman (Cheetah Person and Professor Bernice Summerfield); Terry Molloy (Davros); David Banks (Cyberleader); Mark Hardy (Cyberlieutenant); and Sarah Berger (Cryon).

Taking place at The King’s House, Bedford, MK42 9AZ, tickets are available from https://tinyurl.com/bedford11

Over the years, Bedford Who has raised £76,000 for Bedford Foodbank and for SMART, a charity which supports and helps the homeless people in Bedford: some 500 at the last count. This year, as last, all money raised will go to SMART. (For more information about this charity, go to https://smartcjs.org.uk )

Why come to Bedford Who?

Well, because you’ll have a great time, and there are:

  • The unique atmosphere… Small scale, friendly, intimate, and welcoming, Bedford Who Charity Con is run by fans for fans. Guests and audience mingle and the relaxed environment means people come back year after year. Paul McGann commented, ‘It’s been lovely, it’s been friendly, we can literally look each other in the eye – I prefer that.’
  • The performances… Bedford Who’s panel interviews put the emphasis on audience participation: it’s you who asks the questions! And the guests take part in dramatic readings, and sketches… If you like laughing, come along and watch. As one reviewer commented, ‘Original Doctor Who sketches are unique to Bedford Who and the guests throw themselves into them with gusto.’
  • Well organised and accessible for all… Our amazing stage crew ensure queueing time and hassle is kept to a minimum. We keep things moving while making sure it’s all done in a low key and efficient way. We want to ensure all members of the Who community can participate to the full.

And: cosplay, props displays (screen-used and replicas), photo ops, the charity photoshoot, the raffle, merchandise in the dealers’ room, Doctor Who charity bookstall, police boxes… and Daleks. Lots of Daleks. Everywhere.
