The Doctor Who Companion may not be quite on the edge of destruction, but we could be reaching a terminus. It’s not the end of the world, but we want to avoid it going into a state of decay, let alone a flatline.

But here’s the thing: it’s kinda the eleventh hour unless we help the DWC’s editor, Philip, get some help because life can be a battlefield, and it takes you away from little things like a fansite, however brilliant. It’s only human nature to need a break now and then. We’re not merely avoiding doomsday, but playing the long game.

There are plenty of fans reading this happy to hide in the background, so this is a mission to the unknown caretaker contributors: the faceless ones ready to step up and open a whole new frontier in space and time. Maybe you have world enough and time, and are willing to go the whole 73 yards towards the resolution of our problem and the survival of the DWC.

So, if you have any skills at all that might be useful in extremis, take a deep breath and get in touch. You don’t need the brain of Morbius nor the power of the Daleks, and we don’t want anyone with a God complex. But you might just be heaven sent when Philip most needs you, and make this his lucky day. At least you’ll put a smile on his face.
