Sherlock Series 4 has started shooting – with Benedict Cumberbatch fresh from filming the Marvel movie, Dr Strange – and the first guest star has been revealed: it’s only Bors, dude!
Daniel Hoffman-Gil will be joining the cast as a character called “Gold Teeth” in the first episode of the upcoming series, according to his online CV. Hoffman-Gil played Bors opposite Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor in the Doctor Who Series 9 opener, The Magician’s Apprentice (the poor chap was partially turned into a Dalek), and its prelude, The Doctor’s Meditation.
Proud to be part Sherlock as well as Doctor Who. All I need now is Game of Thrones and I've got the set. #setlock pic.twitter.com/o581fPV8TJ

The first episode of Sherlock Series 4 is directed by Rachel Talalay (Heaven Sent/ Hell Bent), and is expected to feature the return of Andrew Scott as Moriarty, picking up directly from the events of The Abominable Bride.
Very little is known about Gold Teeth. One of the only notable Sherlock stories to feature anyone with a gold filling is The Adventure of the Stockbroker’s Clerk, but it seems pretty unlikely that short story will be adapted, especially as the character has a name: Arthur Pinner.
Series 4 is expected on BBC1 in early 2017.
