The BBC has released another trailer for Doctor Who Series 10, starring Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor, Pearl Mackie as Bill Potts, and Matt Lucas as Nardole, and while it mixes in some material from the previous, longer teaser, there’s plenty of new stuff to indulge in.
Oh, go on – just watch it already! And stay until the end, won’t you?
We see footage from most of, if not all, the episodes in Series 10, including a better look at the new (presumably female) Ice Warrior from Mark Gatiss’ Episode 9.
Plus, we see our first glimpse of the woodlice from Mark Bartlett’s Episode 4, Knock Knock (previously known as The Haunted Hub); a few scenes featuring the Monks, creatures that’ll be in three episodes written by Steven Moffat, Toby Whithouse, and Peter Harness; the watery woman – likely Heather (Stephanie Hyam) – from The Pilot; a mysterious bulky monster likely from Rona Munro’s Eaters of Light; and oh, look at those Cybermen!
And Missy, seemingly doing what is now referred to as a ‘dab’, and no, I don’t really know what that’s all about either. But I hate it already.
So what about that ending? It certainly looks like a regeneration, but Peter Capaldi’s due to stay until the Christmas episode, still due to be filmed, so despite obvious comparisons to The Tenth Planet (1966), this is just a tease to draw people in, especially as the Doctor appears to be wearing the clothes from Sarah Dollard’s Thin Ice (Episode 3).
… Hopefully.
Doctor Who Series 10 starts with The Pilot on BBC1 and BBC America on Saturday 15th April 2017. Not long now!
