If you’re anything like us, you’ll be on the look-out for the BBC Christmas trailer: yes, yes, yes, we see clips from various festive specials – but more exciting than all of that: brief sneak peeks at Twice Upon A Time!
This year’s festive special will air on Christmas Day and is the last regular appearance of Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor; he’s joined by David Bradley as the First Doctor, as well as Pearl Mackie, aka. Bill Potts, the much-loved companion who featured throughout Series 10. As far as the Doctor knew, she was left behind on a spaceship travelling from Mondas, trying to reverse out the pull of a black hole. Bill was converted into a Cyberman in World Enough and Time, and seemingly sacrificed herself in The Doctor Falls.
Fortunately, there’s some closure for the pair – as we briefly see in the trailer! What are you waiting for?!
Yeah, it’s not much, but it’s surely better than nothing.
We can also see Michael Gambon (A Christmas Carol) as Mr Laurence in Little Women; further shows include Passion for Trees, Gone Girl, Snow Bears, Strictly Come Dancing, Call the Midwife, and Mary Berry’s Christmas Party.
And just in case you’ve not seen it yet, here’s the BBC idents trailer, with Symphony, a song destined to play in your head again and again and again.
Getting excited yet? The DWC also has some exclusive special stuff planned for Christmastime, so don’t be a stranger!
Twice Upon A Time will screen on 25th December 2017 at 5:30pm.
