The BBC has released a new teaser featuring Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor. Don’t get too excited; there’s no actual footage from the show, but it’s nonetheless another chance (and there have been very few before now) to see this thirteenth incarnation of the Time Lord in action.
Here’s the Doctor, breaking glass.

It’s all very symbolic, we’re sure. It’s not very subtle either – then again, maybe it doesn’t have to be. This is the Doctor, breaking the glass ceiling, right? Your reaction to this will either be a rolling of the eyes, or a cheer followed by furious tweets with the hashtag #DownWithThePatriarchy.
Or maybe the Doctor just doesn’t respect intricate stained glass.
This is just a trailer announcing the airdate of episode one of Series 11, The Woman Who Fell to Earth. The publicity machine is gearing up once more, and frankly, it seems like ages since its gears were beginning to grind. Let’s hope the BBC has vast quantities of WD40 in storage.
