John Nathan-Turner Documentary to Air on the Big Screen

Fans of 1980s Doctor Who are eagerly looking forward to the release of The Collection – Season 26 on Blu-ray next month, with one of the highlights of the package set to be a feature-length documentary on John Nathan-Turner, the long-serving producer who oversaw the show throughout the decade.

Showman- The Life of John Nathan-Turner is directed by Chris Chapman and will include rare footage and commentary from those who knew him and worked with him, and is said to be “a fascinating look at the life of a troubled showman with lots of stories to tell.”

The documentary will be screened at London’s BFI on 23rd November 2019 at 10:00am. Tickets go on sale later today and you’re advised to be quick – a subsequent Q&A on the same day with Sophie Aldred and Andrew Cartmel, followed by a showing of The Curse of Fenric (Special Edition) has already sold out.

Buyers of the current issue of Doctor Who Magazine (issue 544) have already enjoyed a small taste of the documentary, with an extract included on the DVD given away with the magazine, and it looks like we’re in for a treat.

Tickets to the screening are priced at £12.50, with reductions for BFI members. Public sale starts at 16:00 today (Tuesday 5th November 2019).
