Are you using video conversation services like Zoom to communicate with colleagues and friends? You can now chat with them via the TARDIS set! (Sort of.)
The BBC has released high-quality images of various TARDIS interiors, so you can add them as backgrounds while conversing online. These include shots of the latest TARDIS, piloted by Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor, plus Jo Martin’s “classic” interior from Fugitive of the Judoon.
There’s also the TARDIS console used primarily by the Ninth and Tenth Doctors, The Time Monster TARDIS, and a few Fourth Doctor control rooms, including the Season 14 one, introduced in The Masque of Mandragora.
Just visit the Doctor Who website, open your selected TARDIS image, and save the full-sized photograph. It’ll now be saved to your PC for use as a background. Not sure how to do it? Here’s our simple guide:
How to Add Your Own Background on Zoom
A lot of people are turning to the video app Zoom for work meetings. So how do you upload your own images to use as a new background?
- Open your profile in the top right corner, and click Settings.
- On the menu to the left, go on Virtual Background.
- Upload your own photo to use in your background by clicking + next to Choose Virtual Background. A pop-up encourages you to upload an image. Once you do so, it will appear in a list of photos you’ve already added to the online library. Choose the one you want.
If you’re using Zoom on your mobile, open the app and click on the ellipses at the bottom right of your screen; from here, click Virtual Background then upload your images.
