When Jodie Whittaker, Matt Smith, and David Tennant teamed up for a joint Zoom interview, it’s only natural that thoughts turn to a multi-Doctor story. But would the three be willing to take part?
After joking that David wouldn’t be invited, Whittaker actually enthused:
“I mean, when we all get back on set, I’m inviting everyone!”
Smith also seemed receptive to the idea, although Tennant did point out that they have no say in these matters:
“We all like hanging out together, so it would be nice to do that. I had such a great time when I went back to play the Doctor again when Matt was there. It could have been awful! But he was so welcoming and we just had a laugh.”
Tennant returned as the Tenth Doctor for The Day of the Doctor in 2013, opposite Matt Smith’s Eleventh and John Hurt’s War Doctor.
David and Jodie starred together in Broadchurch and the former jibed:
“Obviously, I know how difficult Jodie is to work with already, so that would be challenging…”
Doctor Who celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2023, so it seems a team-up of incarnations isn’t out of the question.
Would you like to see Tennant and Smith return? Or should we hold off on multi-Doctor stories for a while yet?
