Take Part in The Unquiet Dead Rewatch This Weekend!

Things are about to get festive, with a Doctor Who rewatch and tweet-along to the Ninth Doctor story, The Unquiet Dead.

These rewatches are to bring the Who community together during the coronavirus situation. The Lockdown Who project has been spearheaded by the superb Emily Cook, and involve cast and crew revealing behind-the-scenes secrets and anecdotes on Twitter, while fans join in by watching the episode in question at the same time and tweeting along on Twitter.

The Unquiet Dead has been chosen because then-showrunner, Russell T Davies called it “the forgotten Christmas Special” – indeed, it’s the only Ninth Doctor TV tale to be set during the festivities.

This week, writer, Mark Gatiss will be reflecting on the story, which is now, unbelievably, 15 years old.

Previous Lockdown Who rewatches have included Bad Wolf/ The Parting of the Ways, The Husbands of River Song, Blink, Mummy on the Orient Express, and, last week, Thin Ice (which Bill Potts actress, Pearl Mackie, and writer, Sarah Dollard, also took part in).

All you have to do to take part is start playing The Unquiet Dead at 7pm (GMT) tomorrow – that’s Saturday 12th December 2020 – and tweet using the hashtag #WhatTheDickens.
